So without further ado, let's talk about floating ball valves. What is a Floating Ball Valve? A floating ball valve is a type of valve used to control the flow of fluids through a pipeline. It gets its name from the design of the ball inside the valve, which is free to move or "float" within the valve body. The valve consists of a hollow spherical ball with a hole (bore) through its center. When the valve is open, the fluid flows through the bore, and when the valve is closed, the ball rotates to block the flow.
